"What's with the fairy?"
The reason I've included Chum on the site at all is because I relate to the narrative premise of the show. That individual sincerity and self awareness triumph over those obsessed with the acquisition of power in order to acquiesce their rampant insecurity. The difference with Dunbine is that this narrative premise isn't alluded to, it's utterly direct; the weapon of choice in Byston Well is that of the aura battler. A humanoid machine that literally runs off the soul of its pilot. In short, I prefer pensive individuals over brash insecure power crazed nutjobs. Dunbine makes a good case to back that up (with lots of large humanoid robots no less). |
